Wizard AR was built using many types of computer programs and technologies:
1. Hazel's world that you enter is a virtual world (read more about virtual reality below). It was built using UNITY. Everything from the waterfall to the trees and ground were built using this technology.
2. The Portal that you place on the ground uses a new technology from Apple. The ARkit uses VIO (read more about VIO below).
3. Hazel was built in 3D and animated with Maya software. Hazel was then placed into UNITY.
WHAT IS AUGMENTED REALITY?
WHAT IS ARKit?
ARKit uses Visual Inertial Odometry (VIO) to accurately track the world around it. VIO integrates the camera sensor data with the movement of your iPhone or iPad.
These two inputs allow the device to sense how it moves within a room with a high degree of accuracy. This allows you to place the portal to Hazel’s world in a particular spot and then moving towards/around it in a realistic way.
THE APP
WIZARD AR
Transform your library, classroom or even your playground into a virtual playground where you can meet Hazel and explore her world.
Augmented reality, or AR, is overlaying virtual information on the physical world. This typically means visual information delivered through a handheld device like a tablet, phone or head-mounted display.
THE Character
Hazel was made with MAYA and took hours and hours to get her just right. We hope you agree, we think she's pretty special (and not to be messed with!)
WHAT IS VIRTUAL REALITY?
Virtual reality allows the user to explore and interact with a three-dimensional (3-D), computer-simulated environment in a seemingly real or physical way, typically using external equipment. This can sometimes involve Individuals wearing a head mounted display (HMD) or glasses.

Many of these head mounts contain headphones and/or speakers so that the user can receive additional audio/video as part of the virtual experience.
